I am so thankful for Ed Fallon! He saved my FPIII and got me interested in DIY again!
I loved my FPIII--what a great preamp even in stock condition--so of course I decided to install the extended Foreplay upgrade. What a disaster. I bet I easily spent 30 hours trying to troubleshoot the installation with nothing but frustration. To make a long (and I mean REALLY long) story short, I was VERY upset that I destroyed a wonderful preamp that I truly loved. That made BEAUTIFUL music. I was full of despair. I didn't know where to turn. I was searching for Truth and Meaning in my life. I WAS READY TO GIVE UP DIY AUDIO and --GASP--thinking about buying store-bought gear again. See how desperate I was?
Enter Ed Fallon. Hail Ed Fallon! My personal savior! Sent my "Extinguished" Foreplay III to Ed (and of course UPS literally destroyed it on the way to Washington to make matters even worse) and Ed fixed it. Resurrected it from the Dead. Now it's truly Extended. Better than ever. Soon to be PLAYING the gospel of Bottlehead!
So thank you Ed! You are a great resource.
Just remember: NEVER FEAR ED IS HERE!
