Custom by Bottlehead Single Ended eXperimenter's amp with C4S and shorting headphone jack
The title pretty much says it. This is a S.E.X. integrated/headphone amp that has has C4S active loads installed and incorporates a new headphone jack that cuts out the speakers when you plug in the headphones. The amp was built by tech Shawn "Stratch P" Phelps under Doc's supervision. The chassis plate has been finished in copper colored hammertone paint and the base is clear finish alder. The power trans bell end has been given a particularly nice blue finish with a satin polymer topcoat and we will include a pair of cool looking coin base 6DN7s. It might be a little tough to sneak this one off the lab bench, as Shawn has been breaking it in while he works and I think he's falling in love with it. Price is $750 plus shipping. Here's the most recent custom Foreplay III build to come out of the ol' lab. Tech Shawn built this Extended Foreplay III. The finish is similar to the system components we showed at VSAC2008 - a copper Hammertone chassis plate and a beautiful cold blued and hand polished bell end on the power transformer with a clear polycoat alder base. Shawn's meticulous building skill assures that this one is going to be solid and reliable - he even blued the screwheads on this one. Price for this special Extended Foreplay III is $999. Here's a Seduction phono preamp with our Seduction C4S upgrade installed. It has a copper hammertone painted plate and a clear coated alder base. The C4S upgrade gives it a little better bass and a little more gain than the stock Seduction. Shawn has been building a lot of Seductions for our customers lately and he has the process down to a fine art. This one is available for $650 plus shipping. Here's a Seduction tape head preamp with our Seduction C4S upgrade and switchable IEC/NAB playback eq installed. It has a bronze painted plate that is a pretty close match to the Technics RS1500 series tape machines, and a rosewood toned alder base. This is a killer combo with any tape recorder that has been modded for a direct head output. Shawn has been using this one on the bench for aligning our customer machines, so it is well dialed in.
