This thread is getting started to explore tube types, different numbers, that can be used in the Stereomour without any circuit modifications.  That is, drop in equivalents.

These are the ones I have found.  Variants like a 12AT7A will be in parentheses.  I will modify the OP with others as posters contribute other numbers.

If anyone finds that I have a tube with the wrong pin out, or higher heater current than the Paramour can supply please post and I will modify the OP accordingly.

Paramour Tube Equivalents (in numerical order):

12AT7(A, WA, WC)
6060 (Brimar number)
6679
B739
CV4024
ECC81
ECC801(S)
6201

2A3
2A3C
2A3-40

I have also posted the instructions on changing the driver to a 76 tube.  There was the original Paramour and the Paramour II which are slightly different.  The 76 has less gain than the 12AT7 but in most of our systems that isn't a problem.  One of the advantages is that it is the same tube shape as the 2A3 but a little shorter.  It looks cool!

6679 is another 12AT7 equivalent.

This series continues with 6680 (12AU7A) and 6681 (12AX7A)

6DT8 has the same operating characteristics as 12AT7, but with a "6DJ8" filament connection (pins 4 and 5).
I have used one of these (actually the  12DT8) in a small 12B4A SET design with excellent results. This is wired for 12V filaments so I could choose  either 12AT7 or 12DT8 without any re-wiring.

I could start another section for tubes requiring socket rewiring.  That cold open up a lot of options such as the 76 mentioned above.
