Hi
Sorry for probably stupid question, but I was wondering why 3 front tubes on Eros are covered with shields? Is this a safety issue?
Then why 12BH7 doesn't have shield, and why shields are used only on Eros and Tapehead?
The reason I am asking (besides to educate myself) - I like the look of open tubes and was wondering if it is safe to leave those tubes open...

Anton, not safety, but to block and ground out RFI and EMI.  The 12Bh7 is the voltage regulator for the right and left channel high voltage.  The other three are signal tubes.

Try the tubes with the shields off and see if you pickup any additional noise.  If not enjoy the glow.
