So after about 2 months of burn-in on my new SEX amp the transformer has developed an audible (but faint) buzz, and on certain (but not all) albums at even low volumes I get lots of distortions at the peaks. Adele is unlistenable, but Philip Glass sounds fine. The distortion is in both channels, and not associated with my tubes (I swapped them for a new pair and the peak distortion is still there). Any thoughts? I will take the rig home and suss out the voltages next but I was wondering if this is a typical problem with a standard solution. Or should I just upgrade to Enhanced SEX with the better iron :> ?

Thanks to all - and Happy New Year!

It is not a typical problem. You are on the right track checking all the resistance and voltage measurements. Once we have those we can offer some ideas on where to look.
