i installed about a year ago a asus xonar essense stx audiocard in my pc i run windows xp-this gives suprisingly very good audio-i stream when i am not using vinyl or a cd--124db signal to noise ratio-i did have to upgrade my power supply and my harddrive which was needed anyway-i give it 2 thumbs up for sound-from my pc to a 222a scott amplifier to a pair of jericho horns--sounds a lot better than i ever imagined it would--enough said--thanks howie

I use an STX.  I've never has issues with stray noise in any of my computers, and I don't do anything special.  I am under the firm belief that if there is a noise problem, a component is a cheap POS or faulty.  On my new build I got rid of a video card, so it's running on-board with VGA, and I am getting a noise problem through that cable, so I'm concerned I may finally have sound card noise.  I don't have any of my music since my RAID card is in RMA right now, so I haven't even bothered installing the STX drivers.  By the time I get the card back from repair I should have the Crack and have it built.
