The style of radio is very similar to several that we've used around these parts as organ donors for early EL84 SE experiments.  The output iron left a lot to be desired in terms of inductance, but worked quite well in parafeed configuration.   


yup, it's fun to see that poor little note surviving the compression and broadcasting process relatively unharmed, only to be brutalized by inferior grade thermionic devices in the mantle radio.

I remember a similar reaction the first time I heard an early Philips/Mission CD player in the mid 80's
