I just installed the C4S kit. At the end of the instructions there is this note:

"Always turn on Seduction and wait 30 seconds before turning on amp or preamp."

Why? What will happen if I don't?

There will be a thump.  As the circuit powers up a little DC leaks through the output cap.  It is drained by the resistors on the output RCA jacks.  If your preamp or integrated amp is on the DC produces a thump.  It can be bad depending on the amp and the speakers.

mine just makes a baby "thud" in the speakers...

which is very, very different from the horrific "SNAP" that
the quickie makes when it gets turned off/on in the wrong order.

Seduction makes different, and often very loud, noises if it as the C4S upgrade.

Before anyone asks ... :^) ... of course we could put time delay relays for muting in, But it would raise the cost quite a bit, and entry-level high end is very important to us.  Just sayin' ...

It is much cheaper to turn them on and off in sequence.  There should be a FAQ sticky in the general folder that addresses these questions. Shoot, I'll start one in my folder and get David to sticky it.
