Power transformers painting concerns?

Recently ordered the kit and have started doing some research for several cosmetic aspects. I have noticed that many of the modded amps the power transformers were left as is and was wondering is there a specific reason? If I decide to paint or cover the yellow part (thinking of attempting to polish the metal) are there any concerns? Would it need to be high temp paint? Basically I am unsure what parts get warm enough for concern.

Check in the Gallery.  I believe Wardsweb has colors on both the top plates and end of the laminations of some of his transformers.  He often posts the method he used.  If not, post asking and I'm sure he will answer.

You can paint the output transformers, they don't get that hot. I've done various treatments over the years, one of the more visually successful was covering the yellow wrap with leather. I've also used a little flocking kit you can buy at craft stores. You paint a base color paint on and then coat the wet paint with the flocking, which is puffed out of a bottle onto the surface.

Just be sure to mask the wires before spray painting, so you can identify them when you assemble the amp.
